Sometimes the world is being a little hard on us and we need to refresh our life. Leaving the past behind can be hard, but most of the time it’s what needs to be done in order to move forward. So… here’s how to refreshen your life in simple and small ways.
1. 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒔𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒆
A girl’s (or person, everyone has a right to look out for their skin) skincare routine is really important, not only regarding the aesthetic side of it (pretty serum and glass perfume bottles) but also regarding how calming it is, yet, when you’ve been using the same routine for a while things become boring, so try to change that up a bit!
2. 𝑴𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒖𝒑
Handling make up isn’t for everyone, so it’s good to change things up from time to time. Are you someone who’s great doing makeup? Then why not try to keep your face clean for a week? No bronzer, no contour… just your skin doing a small cleanse. Oh, you’re someone who doesn’t do makeup? Then try it out! You can buy cheap stuff and have fun.
3. 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒋𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈
Journaling is a fun and calm way to cleanse your soul, by pouring out all your feeling into paper or a word document you’ll feel a lot better and come to terms with events in your life and how they affect you. Journaling doesn’t need to be an everyday thing, you can do it whenever you feel like it.
4. 𝑻𝒓𝒚 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒏𝒆𝒘
As I said in one of my articles, trying something new is an amazing way to rediscover yourself and what you want to do in life. Also, it doesn’t need to be something productive for it to matter, just find something that you’ll enjoy.
5. 𝑮𝒆𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒏𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒔 𝒅𝒐𝒏𝒆
Just as the title says, getting your nails done is a nice way to relax. It doesn’t need to be done by a professional, you can ask your friends or do it yourself and enjoy some me-time. Also, why not experiment with some new shapes and lengths for your nails?
Yes, this one again. But I swear I’m not being paid by a multi-billion dollar company to promote being healthy. Working out has so many health benefits, and not only that but it will make you happier (chemicals and all that). Workout to keep yourself in shape, both mentally and physically.
7. 𝑹𝒆𝒗𝒂𝒎𝒑 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒑𝒉𝒐𝒏𝒆
We look at our phones an average of 80 times a day, so seeing the same thing over and over can, and will drive you crazy. Changing your phone background, theme (for Android users cause you Apple people can’t do that!) and case can change the atmosphere around you so enjoy!
8. 𝑫𝒐 𝒂 𝒔𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝒄𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒆
A social cleanse (both on your apps and in real life) is necesary once in a while. Are you bored with your instagram? Change your username, delete your feed and unfollow unactive people. Twitter? Change your header, your profile picture and delete all those embarassing tweets please. Is tumblr not doing it for you? Deactivate your account or change your blog. As for in real life… get rid of those toxic friends. Just do it.
Now, I do realize meditation is not for everyone, and I am one of the people who had a hard time with this concept. However, meditating isn’t necesarilly about sitting crosslegged on a mat, in can also be listening to music, the sound of rain or just enjoying an audiobook. Meditation is about introspection, not just being one with the things that surround you.
